1) WHAT IS THE SYLLABUS FOR THE STSE?

The syllabus of the STSE is the syllabus as prescribed by the CBSE, ICSE and Indian State boards. The details of syllabus are also posted on the Website.

2) WHO ALL ARE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE STSE?

Students of classes 4th, 6th & 7th or 8th, 9th & 10th are eligible to appear for the STSE. There is no other eligibility criterion like minimum marks.

3) ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL BOOKS WHICH THE PARTICIPANTS SHOULD REFER TO FOR THE STSE PREPARATION?

In general, NCERT books/course books prescribed by the CBSE/ICSE/STATE BOARDS may be referred to for the preparation of Language & Maths. We also provide books/materials for STSE preparation.

4) IS STSE CONDUCTED IN ENGLISH ONLY?

No. It is for English, State Bhasha & Semi English Medium.

5) HOW DOES A STUDENT BENEFIT BY TAKING STSE EXAMS?

Participants of STSE are ranked on the basis of marks obtained. Hence, after taking the test, students can judge themselves academically at four different levels – within the school, at city level, at District level, and above all at State level. Each student is provided a Certificate. Students are suitably awarded based on their state ranking. Prizes are announced onetime cash awards, medals, gifts, certificates etc.

6) I AM INTERESTED TO TAKE PART IN THE STSE. TELL ME HOW WILL I COME TO KNOW ABOUT THE DETAILS OF THE EXAM?

All the relevant information is sent to the schools registered with us across state, along with prospectus, registration forms, and other details before the exam. The students come to know about the necessary details from their school teachers or through the STSE official website.

7) MYSELF AND FEW OF MY FRIENDS ARE INTERESTED TO TAKE PART IN THE STSE BUT OUR SCHOOL HAS NOT YET RECEIVED ANY INFORMATION REGARDING THE STSE. WHAT CAN WE DO?

Please let us know the name, e-mail ID, complete address of your school along with name and contact details of the Principal. We will send detailed information and registration forms to your School so that your Principal / STSE Teacher-in-charge can register your names for the exam.

8) MY SCHOOL DOES NOT WANT TO REGISTER FOR THE STSE, BUT I AM VERY EAGER TO WRITE THE EXAM. CAN I DO IT ON MY OWN?

Yes, The students can register on personal basis also.

9) MY SCHOOL HAS ALREADY DISPATCHED THE REGISTRATION FORM. I AM LEFT OUT AND I WANT TO REGISTER MYSELF FOR THE STSE EXAM. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

You can request your school authority to send your relevant details and fee immediately to us. We will accept it if it reaches us before the last date of registration (usually 30 days before the exam).

10) I AM GOING TO WRITE THE STSE FOR THE FIRST TIME. CAN I GET SAMPLE PAPERS?

Sample Papers are sent to all schools registered for STSE exams. STSE website also contains these papers.

11) WHAT IS THE STRUCTURE AND PATTERN OF THE EXAMINATION?

12) I HAVE ALREADY APPEARED FOR THE STSE WHILE I WAS IN A LOWER CLASS? CAN I APPEAR AGAIN?

Certainly. This will give you an opportunity to improve your previous rankings, and if you are successful in doing so, you will again be eligible for certificates and prizes.

13) CAN I TAKE PART IN MORE THAN ONE STSE EXAM?

Students can register for all the STSE in a year as per class eligibility.

14) WE HAVE LESS THAN 5 STUDENTS IN OUR SCHOOL WHO ARE INTERESTED TO TAKE PART IN STSE. CAN WE STILL ENROLL FOR THE TEST?

Yes.    

15) WHEN ARE THE RESULTS OF STSE DECLARED?

Results of STSE are declared within 8 weeks of the examination. The results are sent to the schools concerned. The results are also made available on our website
